Function Float Unit 4

Identifying sentence structures and their functions

A$6.00

This game reinforces the structural elements introduced in Units 1-4 of The Sentence Studio: the subject and predicate, along with the different types of predicate verbs.

In the first version of the game, using the Set 1 cards, students read a sentence from a card and identify the grammatical function of the segment of text that is underlined - is it the subject or the predicate? Is it a linking verb or active verb predicate? Are there any helping verbs?
In the second version of the game, using the Set 2 cards, students read a sentence from a card and then identify the part of the text that corresponds with the structure identified at the bottom of the card - the subject, an active verb predicate, a linking verb predicate, or a helping verb with a main verb predicate.

Once they answer, players move their playing piece to the corresponding bubble on the game board. There are additional challenges on the board and in the form of Wild Cards that keep the game engaging. And the cards themselves can be used to practice the content being covered in Units 1-4 in a variety of ways.
